Quickest way to reach us: contact@fyvit.com. We read everything. Bug reports, feature requests and “my deck won't import” all welcome; the answers below cover what people ask most.
Contact
Email contact@fyvit.com. Flash is made by AlleyApp in the Netherlands, and the people who built it answer the mail. If something went wrong, the app version (Settings → About) and a screenshot save a round trip.
Importing from Anki
Flash reads Anki deck packages (.apkg). Export one from Anki on your computer:
- In Anki, choose File → Export.
- Set the format to Anki Deck Package (*.apkg).
- Tick “Support older Anki versions”. This is the one that matters: without it, Anki writes a newer compressed format that Flash can't open yet.
- Optionally tick “Include scheduling information” to bring your review history across, so cards you already know stay known.
- Send the file to your phone (AirDrop, Files, email) and open it from Decks → Import in Flash.
Flash then shows a preview and lets you choose which fields become the front and back before anything is written. Cloze notes become one card per deletion, as in Anki. Tags come across; subdeck names become tags. Images and audio are left out.
Importing a spreadsheet
A .csv, .tsv or .txt file with one row per card works too. The first column
is the front and the second the back by default; you can change that in the preview. Quoted fields and a header
row are handled.
Backups and new phones
Everything in Flash lives on your phone. Settings → Backup → Export backup writes every deck, card and review to a single file and hands it to the share sheet — save it to Files, iCloud Drive, or anywhere you like. On a new phone, install Flash and use Restore from backup with that file.
If you set up a new iPhone from an iCloud or computer backup, Flash's data comes along with it automatically. A Flash Unlimited subscription belongs to your Apple ID and comes back with Restore purchases on the paywall.
The free limit
Free Flash holds up to 100 cards, with the full scheduler and unlimited daily reviews. When you reach it, the app tells you and offers Flash Unlimited. Importing a bigger deck brings in the first cards that fit and says how many were left out.
If an Unlimited subscription ends while you have more than 100 cards, nothing is removed: every card stays and you keep studying all of them. Only adding more cards waits until you subscribe again.
Flash Unlimited
Unlimited removes the card limit and opens the detailed progress pages (Activity, Accuracy, Decks). It's a monthly or yearly subscription, charged to your Apple ID.
- Manage or cancel: on your iPhone, Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- New phone or reinstall: open the paywall and tap Restore purchases.
- Refunds: Apple handles these at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Full details are in the Terms of Use.
Reminders
Settings → Reminders sets a daily notification. By default it only fires on days you actually have cards due, so it stays quiet when there's nothing to do. If reminders stop arriving, check that notifications for Flash are allowed in iOS Settings → Notifications.
Your data and deleting it
Flash keeps your decks and review history on your device and sends none of it to us. Deleting the app deletes all of it. The only record that exists outside your phone is the anonymous purchase record RevenueCat keeps for a subscription; to have that deleted, email us with the Support ID shown under Settings → Plan. The Privacy Policy has the full picture.
